Melanoma Education for Middle and High School

The Melanoma Education Foundation is a non-profit preventive health organization that saves lives by promoting greater awareness of melanoma and the importance of early self-detection. The Foundation evolved from a father’s website tribute to his son, Dan Fine, who died of melanoma in 1998 at the age of 26. Melanoma Education Foundation’s vision is to create a melanoma-free world through education. Our mission is to inspire people to implement life-long habits for self-detection and prevention of skin cancer.

The website melanomaeducation.net is for health educators and has streaming videos and other resources to educate middle and high school students about melanoma in a single class period.

Our other website (skincheck.org) is for the general public and has comprehensive, user-friendly information about:

  • Early self-detection and prevention of melanoma.
  • Who we are and what we do.
  • Contributing and getting involved.
